On April 19, we celebrate Indigenous Peoples. The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students participated in a reflection about the importance of the correct use of terms related to indigenous peoples, as well as learning about some of their customs, traditions, and games such as tug-of-war, the “Yapo” song and toys like the pawn and the shuttlecock.

We ended the Geography class with a “peteca” workshop, in which students produced their toys and then had fun with friends. 👏✨

Reflecting on the ideas and struggles of the various indigenous societies is fundamental to collaborating with the children’s understanding of cultural issues that are part of the history of our people and our country.
