The emotional and social development of students is as important as knowledge of the content, so we have a discipline specifically geared to preparing our students for the challenges of the world. In SEL classes, students find a safe environment to discuss feelings and emotions that help in the understanding of living in community, interaction, empathy, and companionship. The Social-Emotional Learning program takes place once a week in the Portuguese curriculum, where through stories, videos, and various other resources the teacher will help your child to develop critical thinking, learn to identify and express feelings, to investigate, question, and debate ideas. These skills are essential for the formation of global citizens ready for future challenges.
