EAV Pillars

All Escola Americana de Vitória projects stand on the seven pillars described below. They are the structuring axes for the academic community.

Sustainability

Located on Vitória Island in Espírito Santo, EAV has the privilege of being surrounded by a range of natural resources that need to be preserved to maintain quality of life. In this way, the school’s curriculum contemplates sustainability through interdisciplinary projects in all divisions. We believe that preserving the environment is a global and local investment in the present generations who aim at a future with quality.

Innovation

Innovation, for EAV, goes beyond technological boundaries. Our approach, which is project-based, encourages students to question, produce and experiment. They are always at the forefront of individual or collective projects, being motivated to be creative and collaborative critical thinkers

Wellness

Humans are naturally complex beings, as they function in numerous interdependent relationships. In this logic, health promotion is deep rooted in the EAV curriculum, whether through food education, sports encouragement or the practice of activities such as yoga. We believe that health includes the body and mind, reason and emotion, which fosters the quality of life of our students.

Relationship

Since early childhood education, EAV promotes a routine of collaborative actions that guarantee the development of inter-relational skills throughout students’ academic life. In addition, the partnerships between EAV and other institutions provide students with a permanent state of creation and strengthening of relationships with common goals.

Protagonism

EAV students are protagonists of their learning, experiencing collaborative and autonomous experiences based on interdisciplinary projects, which encourage curiosity, critical thinking, collaboration, self- management and effective communication.

Collaboration

Through our project-based learning, students work in permanent collaboration, which promotes the development of cognitive and social skills that enable young people to be agents of transformation in the context they are part of.

Respect

At EAV, we cultivate a respectful environment where students have agency and the possibility to improve skills to develop and contribute to a just, fraternal, civil society.
