Andrea is the pedagogical director of EAV and has held management and teaching positions over a 20-year career in international schools in Brazil. She was director of elementary and high school at the American School of Rio de Janeiro and also an education specialist at EARJ and Graded School in São Paulo. She graduated from Barnard College / Columbia University, and did postgraduate studies in Development Studies at the London School of Economics and Political Science and in Educational Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University. Andrea is the founder and COO of Gamut Education, a company whose objective is to create programs and physical spaces in schools in Latin America, based on active student-centered teaching methodologies. She has always worked as an agent of change to improve teacher practice and student performance, helping them to become better professionals.
Andrew serves as an educational advisor at the American School of Vitoria and was director of international schools in countries such as the United States, Mexico, and Ecuador. A graduate in International Education from Harvard University, Andrew is engaged in school improvement throughout Latin America and is an advisor to the Texas Alliance for Accredited Private Schools and the Tomas Berlanga experimental school in the Galapagos Islands. Founder and CEO of Gamut Education, he excelled in educational leadership programs, facility development, organizational structure, educational innovation, and strategic planning. Andrew is an active member of “Remake Learning”, promoting teacher empowerment and the importance of the student’s voice in learning. Andrew was recently appointed as Adviser to the Board of a school for gifted children in Chicago.
