International and Brazilian Curriculum

The way of teaching and learning has changed a lot in the last decades with combinations of integrated and flexible approaches to interdisciplinary teaching.

EAV adopts the Fieldwork Education curriculum, integrating the international part of the program, and follow the BNCC (Common National Curriculum Base) for the Brazilian guidelines.

Fieldwork Education is an organization made up of professionals who are experts in international education that provides international curriculum to schools around the world.

The Escola Americana de Vitória adopts the IEYC – International Early Years Curriculum and the IPC – International Primary Curriculum.

The IEYC is designed for early childhood education (2-5 years old) and uses international best practices, holistic inquiry and play-based approaches to support all curriculum areas, personal, social and emotional development. The program is also guided by eight principles that involve playing, the development time of each one and the stimulating, engaging and fun learning process.

The IPC is the curriculum developed for children ages 5 to 11, from elementary school. The program encourages the holistic development of students, starting from three categories of specific learning objectives: personal, international and by subject. The practices adopted at the IPC propose that students be the protagonists of the educational process, preparing them for opportunities and challenges now and in the future.
